Applefest

We took a little time out this morning to experience the Applefest at Oregon Heritage Farms.  It was a nice outing and I'm glad we gave it a try.

We got several pounds of these huge, juicy Honey Crisps!  Not the best price but so worth it since it fulfills a pregnancy craving:

A fun tractor ride through the orchards:

A giant apple bouncy house!

A rope maze; kind of random but the kids really enjoyed it:

See if you can spot three boys:

Autumn is here!

P.S. in case you noticed Joshua's absence, he was at a stake young men's camp (Camp Aaron) over the long week-end.  He came home pretty unhappy; among other things it sounds like adult supervision on the bus ride home (beyond just the bus driver himself) was sorely needed :P

Fun FHE Treat

This was probably one of our most successful FHE treats ever (top 3, at least).  I don't know what they're called, but the closest description would probably be "mini apple pops."  You use a melon baller to scoop out Granny Smith apple balls, dip them in caramel, then dip in the desired toppings.  We used chopped nuts, shredded coconut, sprinkles and maybe one other thing.

Our boys loved it; throw in a batch of Orange Julius and they were in heaven.

I know this isn't the most flattering picture (sorry Caden!) but I was trying to get a shot of his orange julius mustache, plus you get a pretty good look at what the dipped apple looks like:
