Joshua's Solo

Joshua chose a "showy" piece for his violin recital last week-end, Bach's Gavotte in D Major.  It has lots of slurs and trills, plus he included a fair amount of vibrato since it's coming along more naturally for him these days.

I've never posted solo footage before but thought this effort deserved some attention. It is over 5 minutes of solid playing, completely from memory. Plus his finale even elicited a "Whoa" from an audience member sitting somewhere behind me :)  I hope you'll enjoy!

Joshua! Beautiful playing! So great to be able to play with and independent of such a strong piano accompaniment throughout the theme and variations. And the trills! It was thrilling indeed. You looked very accomplished also - how did you feel? So proud of you, G. Jayne
